River Severn Partnership invited to join leading conference panel on environmental leadership

The River Severn Partnership is attending a leading industry conference hosted by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), next month.

CIWEM, the leading professional body for water and environmental management, is hosting "A Fresh Water Future Conference" on December 2, in London, and promises to "examine how organisations can move from principles and concepts to mainstreamed delivery of a healthier and more resilient water environment to sustain long-term UK prosperity. It will draw on events domestically as well as looking at overseas experience to create a shared understanding."

The RSP will be part of a panel bringing together experts from across the UK to discuss innovative approaches to environmental stewardship, climate resilience, and community engagement.

The River Severn Partnership will be represented by Marc Lidderth, co-chair of the RSP, who will share insights into the Partnership’s cross-sector collaboration, nature-based solutions, and long-term vision for the Severn catchment through the Severn Valley Water Management Scheme.

Marc said: “We’re honoured to be invited by CIWEM to contribute to this important conversation.

“The River Severn Partnership is built on collaboration, and this panel is a fantastic opportunity to showcase how integrated catchment management can deliver real benefits for people, nature, and place.”

Conference attendees, include senior policymakers from Defra, MHCLG, and the Department for Transport, environmental regulators such as the Environment Agency, Natural England, Ofwat, and the Office for Environmental Protection, water companies, local authorities, stakeholders from land use, agriculture, and wildlife organisations, industry consultants and academics.
