River Severn Partnership speaks at environmental leadership conference

The River Severn Partnership has been represented Marc Lidderth on a panel at a leading industry conference, hosted by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).

RSP  co-chair Marc Lidderth sat on the panel which brought together experts from across the UK to discuss what good catchment planning looks like as part of the wider conversation around regional systems planning.

Marc said: “This was a great opportunity to showcase the work of the partnership, and our foundation of collaboration where we can do more together than we can working alone. We were able to highlight how our integrated catchment planning approach can deliver real benefits for people, nature, and place; and we’ll continue to inform the developing direction from the Cunliffe Review and the future of regional systems planning being considered’.

Conference attendees, included senior policymakers from Defra, MHCLG, and the Department for Transport, environmental regulators such as the Environment Agency, Natural England, Ofwat, and the Office for Environmental Protection, water companies, local authorities, stakeholders from land use, agriculture, and wildlife organisations, industry consultants and academics.
