Mobile Signal Boosting

Worcestershire County Council recently vacated County Hall with staff from the council and NHS taking up residence in the Wildwood building.  This location suffers from extremely poor public mobile network coverage from all 4 MNOs and staff had difficulty accessing mobile voice and data services.

The RSPAWIR funded the Council to deploy an industrial scale mobile amplifier within the building to boost the signal of all networks.  Form more information, read the full case study.

The project built on from an SME level offering of mobile boosters provided as equipment loans managed by Warwickshire County Council for the RSPAWIR.  These booster kits offered similar benefits to smaller premises with a much smaller number of devices needing service.

One of a number of small Wireless Innovation Grants that were awarded by the programme also addressed the issue of poor mobile signals, in particular affecting Broadway Tower on the boundary between Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
